Sad indeed. Though a Liverpudlian, Colin Vearncombe had moved to Cork in Ireland because “I like my elbow room, and eccentricity is tolerated here” – he lived with ex-wife, his sons and a selection of foreign students who lodged with him. He died in January 2016 in hospital in Cork after the accident. That sonbg will make him immortal.
